The Third Street Saints had humble beginnings. The gang originally operated out of an abandoned church in a district of Stilwater known as Saints Row. Even though they started small, the Saints always had high aspirations.
Julius Little founded the Saints to wipe out crime and reclaim the streets. While their intentions were noble, the ensuing war cost them dearly. Friendships were tested, alliances were broken, and the future boss of the Saints—who was then still new to the crew—almost lost their life at the hands of the man who recruited them.
After awakening from the ensuing coma, the soon-to-be head of the Saints found a very different Stilwater awaiting them. The Ultor Corporation had taken over the city and three new gangs had set up shop. Alongside their friend Johnny Gat, the newly-ordained Boss set about rebuilding the Saints and reclaiming their home from the influences that had settled in—the gangs as well as the corrupt CEO of Ultor, Dane Vogel.
After conquering the city, the Saints set down roots, intending to keep gangs out of their city.
But fate had different plans. The battle for control of Stilwater—and some very lucrative endorsement deals—put the Saints in the spotlight. They had become celebrities. Shaundi was the star of her own reality show. Pierce Washington was the face of Saints Flow, the gang’s very own energy drink. And Johnny Gat was a household name. It was a good time to be a Saint.
Then, after a bank heist gone bad, the Saints fell into the clutches of a criminal organization called the Syndicate. Its head, Phillipe Loren, wanted a cut of the Saints empire in exchange for the gang members’ freedom. They declined the deal—a decision that would cost Johnny Gat his life.
Crashing Phillipe’s plane brought the Saints to Steelport where Pierce, Shaundi, and the Boss found themselves in a familiar situation: facing down criminals bent on using the city for their own nefarious ends. With help from a new Steelport-based crew, along with Mayor Burt Reynolds, the Saints claimed Steelport as their own and cemented the crew’s position as the number one gang in the world.
Little did anyone know where the Saints would end up next. Following a string of politically-savvy missions against the enemies of freedom, the Third Street Saints swept the election and found themselves running the number one gang in the world: America.
After appointing their most trusted allies to the Cabinet, the Boss set about steering America toward a better tomorrow. And they just might have succeeded, if the Zin Empire hadn’t invaded Earth and set about subjugating the best and brightest minds the planet had to offer.
